The performance of Raheem Sterling, on his debut at this level, was eye-catching. The Liverpool winger, with feet as sensitive as pick-pockets' hands, produced a bewildering repertoire of faints and swerves, sudden stops and demoralising spurts, turning and tormenting the Serbia defence time and again.

Liverpool have inquired about the availability of France international Loic Remy as they prepare to strengthen their forward line in the January window.
(...)
Though Liverpool have again been offered unsettled Newcastle United centre forward Demba Ba, club sources say they are unlikely to pursue the Senegal international.
The 27 year old has a £7 million (Dh41.3m) release clause in his Newcastle contract and is unhappy with a lack of recent playing time, but Liverpool declined to take Ba in the summer and remain unconvinced he is an appropriate acquisition now.
Interesse an Remy, keines an Ba und Borini wohl ab Jänner wieder fit.

“There won’t be a naming rights deal for Anfield,” Ayre said. “It was only something we looked at when we were assessing the option of a new stadium.
“Naming rights was a difficult process but we weren’t without our suitors. We have had and still have interest around it.
“A new stadium would never have happened without it but that was only one part of it.

Sean Cummins agreed to hold talks with Chang, who was appointed in May as a successor to the long-standing Ian Cotton, as the Anfield director believed he had sources within the club leaking information on transfer targets which the Reds fan divulged under a Twitter alias.
The 35-year-old created a parody character on the micro blogging site named Duncan Jenkins to portray an aspiring football journalist prone to making a series of error-strewn tweets.
...
Ian Ayre, Liverpool's managing director, met with Cummins earlier today and offered a letter of apology on behalf of the club for the incident but refused to reveal whether further action would be taken against Chang, whose position remains under scrutiny following the incident.

“As a Liverpool supporter, I fully appreciate that our great club has got a lot more serious issues to handle than what a spoof character was writing on Twitter,” Cummins has told Sportingintelligence this afternoon.
“It was never, ever my intention to distract from those issues, and I was shocked and surprised things unfolded as they have done, over a made-up character who was always clearly trivial.
“All I ever wanted was an apology and I got one in writing today.”
