This season we have seen Hussein average 57.43 passes per 90 as he is best in a deeper role with the responsibility to move the ball progressively through the lines and into the opposition half. He also averages 8.28 progressive passes per 90 and 8.83 passes into the opposition area per 90 with 2.44 passes into the penalty area per 90.
Hussein is now in a position where he is likely to be moving on from Sweden to continue his development with a club that plays in a higher level of competition. Hussein is such a versatile player that he would be a good fit for any of the top 5 European leagues.

The next stage of Hussein’s development will require him to step up a competitive level. Moving to an upper-table club in the Eredivisie or Pro League would be the optimal step up, especially if said team encourages a possession-based, play-through-the-thirds style.
That would afford the 21-year-old an immediate platform to utilise his strengths as a passer and develop the weaker aspects of his skillset, not least his athleticism and defensive impact. His ability in possession is certainly translatable to a top-five league level, but his athletic profile – in its current form – is likely to tether him down.
There is an element of natural development but it is something that will have to be specifically worked on. If it develops sufficiently over the next 3-5 years, expect to see Hussein playing to a good level domestically, pushing into a top-five league, and internationally with Sweden.

Enligt Sportbladets uppgifter har Hertha Berlin nu presenterat ett bud som kan bli värt totalt åtta miljoner kronor med bonusar.

Sportbladet hatte zuvor berichtet, dass Hertha BSC eine Einigung mit AIK für Bilal Hussein erzielt hat.
Der deutsche Verein, der jetzt in der zweiten Liga spielt, zahlt laut der Zeitung 8 Millionen Kronen, einschließlich Boni.
Der 23-Jährige, dessen Vertrag nach der Saison ausläuft, weiß nicht, ob das heutige Spiel gegen Varbergs BoIS das letzte als AIK-Spieler war.

Nach BILD-Informationen arbeiten die Verantwortlichen mit Hochdruck an einer Verpflichtung des Schweden Bilal Hussein (23). Der Nationalspieler (zwei Einsätze) kommt auf 114 Erstliga-Spiele bei AIK Solna, gilt als spielstarker Sechser. Sein Vertrag läuft Ende Dezember aus – deshalb hoffen die Berliner auf eine geringe Ablöse. Im Gespräch sind knapp 500 000 Euro. Der Deal steht kurz vor dem Abschluss.
