One in and one out at Clyde
Wednesday 24th October 2012
It is a case of one in and one out at Clyde as defender Craig Wedderburn has left the club and former Motherwell winger Kieran MacDonald has joined.
Former Raith Rovers and Arbroath centre-back Wedderburn has ended his three game career at Broadwood as the recently laid artificial surface at the Cumbernauld ground was adversely affecting his in-grown toe nails with manager Jim Duffy saying, “Craig has two in-grown toenails and was unable to train on our new surface. He felt that he could not do himself justice when playing for us, so he has left and that will enable him to have an operation and get back to full fitness.”
MacDonald featured recently against Queen's Park as a trialist and has now agreed terms to join Clyde as a permanent signing with Duffy adding, “Kieran is only 19 but he offers a good attacking threat and I look forward to seeing him in action on a more regular basis.”

Dumbarton Pair Join on Loan
The club can confirm the signature of Kevin Nicoll and Jamie Lyden, on loan from Dumbarton until the end of the season.
Nicoll (pictured on homepage), 26, likes to operate in the holding role in midfield but has also played in defence during his career. He started his senior career at Albion Rovers, before spending a successful four years at Stair Park with Stranraer. He joined The Sons ahead of the 2011 season and was a regular feature in their promotion-winning side, before an operation led to a spell on the sidelines during the current campaign.
19-year-old Lyden (right) is a product of Dumbarton's youth system and is at home in the right back slot. He was awarded a senior contract in the summer of 2011 and has featured in 10 first team matches so far.

Club Debt Falls Below £100k
Today saw Clyde FC's total debt go below the £100k mark.
This significant milestone comes over eight years since the club agreed a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) and separate debt repayment plan with its landlords North Lanarkshire Council.
Following today's scheduled payment of £4.5k to NLC, £97k remains to be paid to the council, at the agreed fixed schedule which will see Clyde - a wholly supporters' owned club - become completely debt free in November 2014.
Clyde finance director, David Dishon said:-
"We are almost self-sufficient now, operating on a year-by-year surplus to meet our responsibilities and that's something that most clubs in Scotland will be envious of.
"Today is a landmark and a great achievement from where we were. We recognise the work undertaken by supporters of the club and that backing is still needed as the job is not done; we need to continue to work together to ensure that our club can develop.
"It has been tough for everyone associated with the club in recent years, on and off the park. However the end result will be that Clyde survives for future generations- that was not always assured."

Clyde owners agree on move to East Kilbride
By CRAIG P STEWART
Published on Monday 22 April 2013 01:06
Third Division Clyde have cleared a huge hurdle in their desire to relocate their club away from their Cumbernauld home of two decades to East Kilbride and also have the club renamed as EK Clyde.
Nearly 300 of the individual owners of the club under their Community Interest Company status held an extraordinary general meeting ahead of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Montrose and agreed to pass the three resolutions put forward by the Broadwood board.
Resolution one, which was to authorise the board to enter into legal agreements and make appropriate arrangements to allow relocation in or around East Kilbride, was passed with a 93 per cent ‘yes’ vote.
The second resolution – to change the name to EK Clyde Football Club Community Interest Company on the result of a move – was also passed, with slightly less backing of 84 per cent, and the third resolution setting out the rules for any further name change was accepted with 85 per cent positive backing.
