Jermaine Jenas has had his loan at Nottingham Forest extended by two months.

The midfielder has made four appearances, scoring once since returning to the City Ground on loan last month.

Gareth Bale is ready to tell Tottenham he wants to join Real Madrid next summer if the Spanish giants meet the club's £50 million asking price

Tottenham have entered the chase for France under-21 fullback Massadio Haidara, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old is highly-rated in France, but only has 18 months left to run on his Nancy contract, and a number of clubs are thought to be monitoring the youngster.

Former-Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish reportedly prepared a £2m bid to bring the French starlet to Villa Park last season, and new Villians boss Paul Lambert is believed to be eager to complete the deal.

But Spurs are hopeful of nipping in to secure the signature of Haidara. Nancy are thought to value the defender at £6.5m, well above the fee Villa have offered, which could be in Tottenham's favour.

The Premier League strugglers watched the Nancy star 10 times last season, and sent chief executive Paul Faulkner to run the rule of him on a number of occasions.

But Spurs have joined the growing list of admirers taking an interest in Haidara. The young fullback has two caps for France under-21s, and made his debut for the Ligue 1 club in the 2010-11 season.

Haidara plays most of his football at left-back, a position currently occupied by Benoit Assou-Ekotto or Kyle Naughton at Tottenham.

Spurs will look to add another three points to their Premier League total on Saturday, when they make the short hop across London to visit Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has slammed former Spurs star Luka Modric for telling Gareth Bale to join Real Madrid.

Modric moved to Santiago Bernabeu this summer in a deal worth an estimated £35million from White Hart Lane and was recently quoted pleading with Bale to join him in Spain.

The Croatia international claimed that a combination of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo for los Merengues would be an “unstoppable” combination for the reigning La Liga champions.

This did not go down well with Villas-Boas and the Portuguese reacted strongly, instructing Modric to desist from talking about his players and to keep his mind on his own team.

Villas-Boas also insisted the Welsh winger would not be leaving Tottenham any time soon, no matter how badly Modric wants him at Real Madrid.

“I think he should focus more on his club than ours," said the former Chelsea boss.

"Obviously Modric is aware of Gareth's performances because of his love for Tottenham, but it is completely impossible [for Bale to leave].”

Bale has been in sensational form for Spurs in recent weeks and was crucial on Wednesday in the 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League at White Hart Lane.

The 23-year-old set up fellow winger Aaron Lennon for the opening goal before wrong-footing Reds goalkeeper Pepe Reina with a free-kick.

Bale even scored the third goal of the game, though it was as part of a comical own goal; Lennon’s blasted clearance hit him n the face and went straight in.

Speculation around Bale’s future was heightened when Chelsea’s unlikely Champions League triumph meant Spurs missed out on the competition, despite finishing ahead of the Blues in fourth.

Gareth Bale is expected to be out for up to two weeks after limping off during Tottenham's 3-0 win at Fulham.

With January fast approaching, transfer rumours are already gathering pace and tradition usually insists that Spurs are firmly in the frame for new faces.

However, the club are expecting the return of some long term injury victims soon and head coach Andre Villas-Boas has suggested that Spurs would not be looking to add to a fully fit squad. AVB has done without Scott Parker since the beginning of the campaign while Younes Kaboul and Benoit Assou-Ekotto were early casualties.
